If you can not get the Session Tools program to share sessions for some reason, you can follow these steps to share sessions using zip files.
Zip file are a way to compress or archive multiple files into a single file. You can then send a single, compressed file via email.
Most versions of Windows allow you to do create compressed zip or archive files easily.
- Navigate on your computer to c:/program files/ss session planner/drills_and_sessions.
- Find and highlight the multiple drill files and single session file associated with the session you want to send.
- After highlighting them, Right-Click and go to "Send To..." and then "Compressed (zipped) Folder".
- After you create the Zip file you can then email it as an attachment to someone else who has the Session Planner.
If you can't create a Zip file directly in File Explorer, there are many programs that can create zip files and extract them. Here are two examples to download...
Winzip - my favorite tool but costs $29.00. A free trial is available. CLICK HERE
Camzip - Free - not as easy to use as winzip but it is free and works well. CLICK HERE
- Install a zip program if you dont have one
- Find the files by name for the session and associated drills in
c:/program files/ss session planner/drills_and_sessions
The session file name will begin with 'session_"... and then drills will begin with "drill_"... Both will then be followed with names you gave when creating them in the Session Planner.
- Create a zip file from the files.
- Attach the zip file in an email and send it. You might even send a link to this page in the email in case the recipient needs software to "unzip" the file you send.
